The results of the 2021 Bishop & Associates North American Customer Satisfaction Survey of the Electronic Connector Industry are in. In this article, we reveal the Top 10 connector manufacturers for on-time shipment delivery and meeting promised ship dates.
Bishop & Associates has completed its 2021 North American customer survey, which evaluated 37 connector manufacturers. A total of 221 customers answered 18 questions relating to important issues such as quality, pricing, delivery, lead times, technical support, and more to determine the Top 10 connector manufacturers.
Responses were gathered from several sales channels. The distribution of responses throughout the sales channel is shown in the following chart.
Note: 46% of participants are engineers and 23.1% are purchasers of connectors.
Survey participants were asked, “What is your level of satisfaction with the performance in meeting promised ship dates?” and “What is your level of satisfaction with meeting promised ship dates?”
Response choices were:
7 = Extremely satisfied 3 = Dissatisfied
6 = Very satisfied 2 = Very dissatisfied
5 = Satisfied 1 = Extremely dissatisfied
4 = Neutral
2021 Top 10 Connector Manufacturers for On-Time Delivery
The following table identifies the Top 10 connector manufacturers ranked by average score. These manufacturers received the highest customer evaluations for best performance in on-time delivery. The number of responses is also provided.

Samtec, Mill-Max, and WAGO placed first, second, and third, respectively, in the 2021 North American Customer Survey. New to this year’s list are Glenair, Amphenol, HARTING, and Phoenix Contact.
The following table is a comparison of the rankings of this year’s Top 10 connector manufacturers for meeting promised ship dates versus the previous four years in which the survey was conducted.
Samtec placed first in the last five North American surveys conducted for on-time delivery. Glenair experienced the largest increase in rank from 2018 to 2021, jumping from No. 26 to sixth place and reentering the Top 10 for the first time since 2012. Amphenol entered the Top 10 for the first time in 2021.
2021 Top 10 Connector Manufacturers for Meeting Promised Ship Date
Samtec, WAGO, and Mill-Max placed first, second, and third, respectively, in the 2021 North American Customer Survey for meeting promised ship date. These were the only three companies to achieve an average over 5.000. All companies but one achieved a score better than the overall industry average (4.661) for the 16 companies that were in included in the final report.
The following table is a comparison of this year’s Top 10 connector suppliers’ overall performance ranking versus the previous four years in which the survey was conducted.
Samtec has placed first or second in the last five surveys. Glenair experienced the largest increase in rank from 2018 to 2021, jumping from No. 26 to eighth place and entering the Top 10 for the first time. LEMO Connectors also entered the Top 10 for the first time in 2021 for meeting promised ship dates.
